# Getting Started

> How to set up the Extra Scoop Eyewitness App.

You will learn how to configure your account and select a reporting persona.

The Eyewitness App is your primary tool for capturing and licensing verified journalism. Because all content is cryptographically signed, you must complete a secure onboarding process before submitting your first scoop.

## Account Verification

When you first open the app, you complete a gamified forensic scan. This calibrates your device's hardware attestation and confirms that your phone's secure enclave can generate valid cryptographic signatures.

## Choosing a Persona

To help newsrooms categorise your submissions, you select a reporting persona during setup. You can adjust this later in your profile settings.

* **Catalyst:** For real-time breaking developments.
* **Investigator:** For deep forensic audits and exposés.
* **Vigilante:** For local safety and borough-level alerts.
* **Speedster:** For raw, first-on-scene footage.
* **Default:** For a balanced, general news focus.
